Torts at the AALS Annual Meeting

From Thomas Kadri, Chair of the Torts and Compensation Systems Section:

The AALS Annual Meeting in New Orleans is just around the corner, so we wanted to share details about our Section’s programming this year!

Our Section’s main program – Tort Law and the Shrinking Administrative State– is on Thursday, January 8, at 4:10–5:25pm. Our panel will include Professors Mark Geistfeld, Gregory Keating, Timothy Lytton, and Catherine Sharkey, and will be moderated by Professor Melissa Mortazavi. We’re grateful for co-sponsorship from the Sections on Internet & Computer Law and Insurance Law.

Our Section is also co-sponsoring Lethality in Firearms Law with the Sections on Firearms Law and Administrative Law, as well as Torts Meets Terminator: Civil Liability in the Age of Artificial Intelligence with the Sections on Internet & Computer Law and Insurance Law. These two sessions will also take place on Thursday, January 8.

Finally, we’re celebrating Professor Catherine Sharkey as this year’s William L. Prosser Award winner. We hope you’ll take the opportunity to congratulate her, whether by email, during the conference, or at our award ceremony on Thursday, January 8 at 11:10am–12pm.
